ESG Consulting & Advisory

Build credible ESG strategies, publish world-class sustainability reports and access green finance — guided by India's leading ESG advisory practice.

ESG as a Competitive Advantage — Not Just a Compliance Exercise

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors have moved from a niche investor consideration to a mainstream business imperative. Indian regulators, global investors, supply chain partners and consumers are all demanding greater transparency and accountability on ESG performance. SEBI's mandatory Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) framework for listed companies, combined with growing supply chain ESG due diligence requirements from global buyers, makes robust ESG strategy and credible disclosure non-negotiable for Indian businesses of ambition.

Peak Idea Corporation LLP's ESG Advisory practice helps Indian businesses — from listed large-caps to growth-stage mid-market companies — design and implement genuine, value-creating ESG programmes. Our consultants bring expertise across all three ESG pillars: environmental management (GHG emissions, water stewardship, waste reduction, biodiversity), social responsibility (labour practices, human rights, community engagement, supply chain social audits) and governance (board composition, anti-corruption, transparency, risk management). We help you go beyond box-ticking to build ESG into the DNA of your organisation's strategy and operations.

Our ESG reporting services cover all major frameworks — BRSR, GRI Standards, TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures), CDP Climate and Water disclosures, Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) and the United Nations SDGs. We help you measure what matters, disclose with credibility and use ESG ratings improvement as a lever to access green bonds, sustainability-linked loans, impact investment and preferential supply chain partnerships with ESG-focused global corporations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is BRSR reporting mandatory for all companies in India?
Currently, BRSR reporting is mandatory for the top 1,000 listed companies by market capitalisation. SEBI has signalled progressive expansion of the mandate and voluntary BRSR reporting is strongly encouraged for other listed and unlisted companies seeking investor confidence and supply chain access.
What is the difference between BRSR, GRI and TCFD?
BRSR is SEBI's India-specific sustainability reporting framework for listed companies. GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) is the most widely used international voluntary ESG reporting standard. TCFD focuses specifically on climate-related financial risk disclosure. Many companies report using multiple frameworks simultaneously — we help you design an integrated approach that satisfies all relevant stakeholders efficiently.
How long does it take to prepare a first sustainability report?
A first-time sustainability report typically takes 3–5 months to prepare, including data collection, materiality assessment, content development and design. The timeline is primarily driven by the time needed to gather reliable ESG data from across the organisation. Subsequent annual reports are typically faster as data systems and processes are established.
Can you help us set science-based emissions reduction targets?
Yes. We support SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) target-setting processes including GHG inventory development (Scope 1, 2 and 3), baseline year selection, target ambition assessment and SBTi submission preparation. Science-based targets are increasingly expected by global investors and major corporate customers.
What is a green bond and can Peak Idea help us issue one?
A green bond is a debt instrument whose proceeds are used exclusively for projects with environmental benefits — renewable energy, energy efficiency, clean transport, sustainable water management, etc. We support green bond issuance by developing the Green Bond Framework, securing a Second Party Opinion (SPO) and preparing the impact reporting required for ongoing investor disclosure under ICMA Green Bond Principles.
